Norton Nemesis rebuild

Just watched the current episode
The thing that has struck me all the way through is how good some of that machine is and how bad it is
The exhaust
Various brackets
Some of the machining
It's still enthralling to watch (for me) and expect many others
Bust jeez there's some bad hidden gems in that bike!
Gems like rotten Easter eggs. :)

Maybe they can talk Guy Martin into taking it to Utah. That could be entertaining.

Its a prototype not a finished design hence the use of parts from other bikes and the less than ideal unequal length of headers. It may have had a full set of finished drawings but prototypes do not have access to the production tooling hence the need from compromises to keep costs down and to meet a target date.

Yep I totally get it's a prototype
But the quality of some of the work!!!
Those exhaust pipes look as bad as some of the ones I have made 😳

The exhaust would have been one of the last items as you need virtually everything else in place, so in a rush no doubt and probably used the cheap office junior ;) .

Episode 15 is out. He nixed the throttle bodies and his intake manifold and exhaust and went with the original setup for fueling the engine and the exhaust.

Don't need no stinking mufflers

There is Youtube video out that has Millyard starting the Nemesis at the Museum it will end up in. It's long and not like the other home videos. There is a mention of trying to break the land speed record. I don't know how serious that effort is though. Seems more like a joke to me.

given that the current record for that class is not excessive, I think they will get the new record.

Yeah, it's a low bar. They will definitely get a record for a Norton Nemesis if it finishes the requisite runs to obtain a record.

they are doing a thorough job in bringing a very ‘thrown together’ prototype up to working state, after a long time sitting untouched. And we get to see the youtube films of it being overhauled by a very skilled engine modifier/builder who is very well respected in the UK. And he is now part of the only bike show on British TV. ( Allen Millyard)
