I’m in, and unlikely to ride there, so if anyone is interested in sharing car transport, I am just off the M1 near Luton.

Damn not the first time I been premature, I’ll try alter it
Enjoy the day, I’ll be trapped in Cornwall! I doubt they will let you take pictures or give you any answers other than the ‘party line’ which we have heard before but I’d be really interested to know the menu and quality of the fayre on the day. Look forward to your feedback.

Mind you, with 420 interested enough to apply, couldn't they have taken five days out of their hectic schedule to accommodate them all??
(Or perhaps they've only got enough chemical to brainwash 90?)

the bizarre thing was that several NOC members thought it was a scam when it appeared on their website (hackers) so didn’t apply....

I’m a bit confused as to why a limited number and a drawing is needed. According to John Hogan he told me……

I don’t believe a single word from anyone at TVS anymore.
To that end, I’d be more than happy to extend an invitation to AccessNorton to come up for a tour of Norton HQ. Your commitment to Norton is valued to us, I hope that in showing you what’s keeping us busy, you’ll appreciate the bigger Norton picture and where you fit into it.

Best

Norton HQ address is Unit 500: are they trying to tell us a new model name...!?
Not sure, but this certainly has a rather ominous sound to it.
Is "Unit 500" the secret underground research site where Norton are reverse engineering alien technology into a new Commando?

My guess on the draw is basically so they can manage the open day - if they did’nt limit numbers they may have been inundated and unable to manage the day effectively. Like most business/establishment open days I suspect, especially when there is expensive assets/machinery and tools all over the place.

They decided on the number of 90 which is a reasonably small body of interested people. I suspect they viewed the only fair way to select people was by doing a draw. It also builds attention and the ’winners’ get the golden ticket! As it’s on a Sunday they could probably have increased the number you would have thought, unless other invitees (not drawn) are on top of that number. Open day with a bit of marketing. Simples.

Maybe a few of our number were ‘selected’ rather than drawn, in line with the Access Norton offer - who knows. It will be interesting to see if anything new comes out of it.

420 applications? So exactly 420 applications were filled out? Not 419 or 421?
And exactly 90 were chosen. Not 80 or 100 but 90. Why?
Because 92 applicants applied and they had to have a loser and notified two members here as the losers.
They couldn’t make it an even 100?
Maybe only 90 because that’s how many squares are on the average roll of toilet paper these days.

Surprised it’s not 35% or 350. As in 35% or 350 people as in parts they claimed they changed or improved.
35% of 420 is 147. Should have allowed 147 people to attend.

Happy New Year Voodoo, with an emphasis on the ‘happy’!:D

Why 419 or 421 and not 420? Do those numbers not have an identical statistical likelihood? You are suspicious cos it’s a round(ish) number; maybe they rounded it up? 90 because (maybe) they have 10 industry insiders coming and have worked out 100 is the optimum number for the tour/event that they have planned? Or maybe that number is just plain old 90.

Why would we choose to disbelieve everything they say and add a dollop of ill intent and/or conspiracy? Doesn’t make any sense my friend. Let’s give em a chance to stretch their legs this year and see where they end up!

Love’n’hugs.;)

Steve

Agree FE, it is what it is. Would have been interesting to go, but I’m not looking any deeper into it other than I got an email that I was unlucky and taking that at face value. Not that interested in conspiracy theories...and even if there was one, what could I do? My view, they could accommodate a certain number, I was unlucky, move on. What is great is that it looks like a few will get to go and can have an interesting day and report back. I’ll take that as an overal positive, the way I see it!

I hope they will have something new to report . What would be awesome is if they could supply 5 or 10 running bikes to ride and let them all have their turn after you sign the waiver paper of course. Like say HD did for the Rev Max platform . This would be very good for business in my opinion.
