Norton commando weight

As a side note I checked my bike with the bathroom scales
And with the bike chocked level for the front and the rear weight it came in at 436lb
So 6lb lighter using the bathroom scales method ?
I think I trust the race car scales more than the bathroom??
The bathroom scales are designed to read a few hundred pounds, which is appropriate. A motorcycle would be well below the intended range of a car scale.

Mk3 Interstate with full tank.
This equates to 480lb.
With a full Roadster tank on instead it should weigh about 455+-.
A friend has a stock 1973 850 Interstate with Alton. Just hefting the bikes, they feel the same. One day we will weigh his 73 on the same scale. I suspect it will weigh the same as the MK3 +- 5 lbs
So much for the pork of the MK3. It's the starter.

These were race car scales with 4 pads to sit the car on where you adjust the tyre pressure by 1 or 2 psi to move the weight from one side to another, pretty accurate really

This is really good info
I really should have weighed my bike before fitting the Alton
I have very light wheels on my bike flangless morrad rims
Alloy yokes
Alloy rear mudguard
Belt drive, light clutch
Single 40mm carb
No center stand
Single seat
Rear sets with alloy brake pedal alloy footrests etc
Basically everything Norton that I took off I replaced with lighter components
Then my knee gave out and I had to fit the starter and larger battery
