I cancelled the superlight.... i honestly have no problems with this bike- no oil in airbox, no other leaks.... its a bit lumpy below 2000 revs but ticks over perfect and runs strong n great throughout the rest of the rev range.Nothings ever broken. It really is a wonderful bike but i have a few others and need to cut down... i've sold one but have this and a Kawasaki Z900RS for sale and one of em needs to go..... i've looked at 961's for sale elsewhere and my bike seems to be the best value as far as price, condition, mileage, looks and extras go.... i've had numerous time wasters and no one has even been to view the bike ! I really can't understand why it's not sold..it truly is a magnificent bike.
Hello Al , How do you like the Kawasaki Z900RS ?
What did FE get for his 50th edition 2018 model, wasn't it around £14.5K?
The Z900RS is a lovely bike...made much better by adding a full delkevic exhaust system and remap... eliminating a snatchy throttle response and also injecting a bit of character into what is a rather bland 4 cylinder....it is much smoother and faster than the Norton, but the Norton is WAY more exhilarating to ride.
I had the same response when I was looking around for another bike, I was offering either the XR or my CR as potential px as one of them would have to go. The dealers were just not interested in the Norton one iota but fortunately the XR sold privately almost immediately so the 961 was saved.... whether the Norton resale market improves in time i'm not sure, it has very bad press.I wish!
I got £13k in a px deal. And I think I was lucky, I phoned around the various Norton dealers, as well as Norton themselves... and it’s not that I got lower offers... I got NO offers... I just got told frankly ‘No, we’re not interested’...
But I would have thought that with TVS at the helm now, the market would have improved?

Norton Beaten to a pulp to say the least , and mostly self-inflicted . I hope they can recover , at least for the spare parts business . I just bought a a Z900RS and traded in my 2004 Triumph Thruxton for it. The Z900RS won over the Yamaha XSR900 because of seat comfort/ergos/range. It has a very good aftermaket parts supply and looks more like a classic. I plan to ride this thing after all.
