Norton 961 Alternate parts list.

Many thanks cliffa.
This list is invaluable, and Norton must be loosing a fortune as people source parts elsewhere.
Any idea where the footrest rubbers are from as mine are starting to split.
Absolutely no help from TVS!!

@MAK - whilst I haven’t tried them, if you look for a set of tarozzi rear set rubbers - I’m pretty sure they are the same.

Try here:

If you find some that fit please update this thread or P.M. me and I’ll add them to the list.

Potential supplier of replacement/custom 961 seats. Not really for the list but may be useful to someone.

Strange question. Has anyone tried to fit a single seat unit seat, to a dual seat bike? Any way to make it work with the seat pad removed from the dual seat unit top cowl?

Hello, I didn't find by "saddlecrafts" or "corbin" a model of seat for 961...? In fact, I would change mine, because of the fixations which are broken...and also a best comfort to ride ! Can you give me the adress of their site, to order directly ?

Broken fixings are a common problem on the later bikes as they did away with the metal inner and relied solely on the plastic of the seat base ( i.e. not good). Saddlecraft will re-cover your existing seat, but I doubt they will make a replacement. Due to the low volumes concerned I doubt Corbin do either.

Even with the metal inner i found that the screws would fall out so gave up refitting them. The seat wedges in quite well without them, and is even more firmly anchored with my bulk resting on it.
As for comfort i just went to a local upholsterer and had them put thicker firm foam in and redo the cover to suit. I've happily done a 1000km day on the revised seat.

It was an issue around 2017 onwards. On Production, earlier plastic bases we used to have one guy push down, whilst another located and tightened the allen bolts. Then some dipshit decided it would be an awesome idea to dremel the shit out of the plastic base, so one guy could fit it themselves. Idiots.
Peg rubbers would be 961 specific. I could look into having them made, but the MOQ would probably make them costly. How much of a demand is there for them?

I had a seat made for my F1 Sport by Saddlecraft and it is by far the most comfortable seat that I have ever sat on.
The design for the 961 seat with the Norton embroidery was Saddlecraft’s.
Garner stole it and had it made cheaper elsewhere.

Still can’t believe that there are not footrest rubbers out there that would do the job.
Will keep looking.
Are you pleased to see me or is that a footrest rubber in your pocket!!!!!
