I'm pretty sure this was discussed a while ago, but I'm almost thinking of using the new Norton logo on my bike.

Old

New

I think the new one is more "swooshy"

I'm a traditionalist. I will always use the "older" logo. But, you young kids never listen to us; so use the "newer" one.

Just understand, this use of vulgar, sinful, revolutionary icons is a clear illustration of the path your generation is taking to eternal hell.

But, do what you want to do, don't listen to me.

The only time I'd listen to you is when you're pouring my beer. I assume everyone knows that the logo has changed many times over the years. This time isn't really all that different. I counted a least two variations just on the Commando.

To my mind, the 'new' logo looks far more like the version that appeared on the 1913 catalogue. The style has moved around a bit over the years.

Indeed, the 'new' logo looks about the same as they used for about 50 years...

I like the one maximini found on his old fastback best of all. I wish I could get the art on that one.

Get me a clearer picture and I could get art for you.

Hello.
I have a Commando & a Francis Barnett.
Does that make me a true Norton Villiers person.

I think I need a holiday.

Only if your F-B was made during the NV days.

Why don't you ask maximini?

Because I know he paid an artist to develop one for him and I don't feel like impinging on his good will, much less the artist's license.

I didn't say steal his artwork, just ask for a clearer picture. From there I could do the artwork. And I'd only charge you a beer.

Flo,... That makes you a Norton / Villiers person.
I too have experienced the mighty 197, at a very early age. James I think.

The best I could do in about an hour. Type might need to be thickened up a little.

I especially like the way it doesn't say 'Kawasaki'. Infact I love the way it says 'Noisey, mean, kick arse British Twin from the days before motorcycles were a fashion accessory '.

Hurrah and let's stop spitting hairs while we are all going bald! :!:

Hey, we're not going bald, it's just coming out our ears and nose.

You guys got me wondering how many variations to the Logo there have been over the years. Any you history buffs know?

Mike
