John, I took a long hard look at this machine when it was for sale. Decided to sleep on it and it was sold the next day.

Looks like you have made some great progress.

The most valuable Commandos are probably the most original ones. If I owned one, I could not do it justice. When you see one which is concours original and not even a restoration, it is usually a joy to behold. There is a problem that a lot of young guys have - they don't know what the bikes actually used to look like because their vision has been corrupted by lash-ups.
I don't particularly like Velocettes, but I saw a nut and bolt perfect Thruxton at Phillip Island about 15 Years ago. It was absolutely gorgeous. You don't often see that these days.

Nice work on that grab rail mounting John. Handy with a MIG, are you?

I'm liking what you're doing..... Looking good too.... Not finicky here if someone is going to put time, effort, money, and love into an old English scoot and come out running with good looks they're moving in the right direction. Keep up keeping up the good work John your Norton is very nice.

John no elitists here mate. Just people who want you to get it right!
You've cracked on well there. As someone with few standard bikes. I am always ' amazed when people say "that's fatasic!"
"What is it" completely blind to the engraved timing cover & the name on the tank! Aligned of not!
Keep up the pace. Hope to see it being ridden before I'm out of lockdown.

Turns out new dude wasn't a fan of the old guard.

Hawg wheel? Big deal

Dude's gone with clear final words & i doubt he is alone in his thinking, with new folks showing up.

I'd say telling folks what to do (my way), passively or aggressively, rather than answering questions are 2 diff things. My way ain't gonna fly with todays folks, they'll just go somewhere else.

Could be that's actually what folks here prefer. Alota places it would be seen as absurd. Certainly in the Harley or Goldwing world.

A pity, new member joined June 15, 2020 , last sign in July 8, 2020.
Hopefully John (Brace) will sign in one day regarding how his self built bike turned out.
