Do you find steel backing plates advantageous to aluminum? Though I haven't seen enough mention of it to appear to be a huge issue, the wear at the teeth of the old Barnett set I replaced has me wondering.
I've never used Barnett alloy-backed friction plates so I can't comment but the plate tangs apparently wear more rapidly so an owner ends up replacing the plates instead of the clutch centre.
Have we ever had a clutch thread? No? Didn't think so. So I was getting a little weeping from the primary on my Interstate. No belt drive. Not yet. When I was in there I noticed a bit of play with the clutch basket. Going the cheapest route I replaced the bearing. That snugged it up a little...
