I don't often work on late model Triumphs with parallel intake ports but now I have two with squirrely MK2 carbs. My solution a few years ago was to toss the MK2 carbs and install the much more common MK1 carbs from a year earlier. If I remember right I used a rubber manifold that bolted on to the carb flange and slid over the spigots on the head. It ran very well and did not require hangers to support the carb. The other method is to use the common aluminum spigot with a section of radiator tubing. This will absolutely require a hanger plate.
** Where to get the proper rubber manifolds?
** please do not give advice about MK2 carbs. They aren't worth the trouble.
