I want to upgrade my MKIII rear brake. Is there a caliper that will bolt onto the stock mount and use the stock disc? I have looked at Norvil and RGM and AN and come away confused. Since the factory calipers are the same I would expect that at least some of the front calipers on offer would do the trick but I'm at a loss to find which one.

Not a direct answer I'm afraid, but I'm sure the rear brake must be at some sort of mechanical disadvantage over and above the simple 'weight transfer' explanation...
I put 13mm master cylinders front and rear, and whilst the transformation on the front was like night and day, the rear was more like night and perhaps one in the morning :-)

There are only two manufacturers that make a direct fitment front caliper. ( I.e. without an adapter) Harrison Billet and Pretech ( who I beleive are no longer in business) the Harrison caliper is a 6 pot device which I don’t think would be suitable for a rear brake. I think your only option would be to make a new carrier to suit.

EDIT : CNW do a conversion at a price !!o_Oo_Oo_O

Thanks for the suggestions. cNw is far more money than I want to spend. I don't want to stop in THAT much style. The Norvil product looks like it has possibilities if I can find out what fits it.

Do you really need it? I ground the hard chrome off and found it adequate. We know the front brake is the more important and where to spend the money. My personal preference is a rear that's not easy to lock even though I can lock it and have during a panic stop.

Well, I must admit that I broke off the bleed screw in the factory caliper a while back and while it's still possible to bleed it, at some point I'll have to do something about it. So it's either another Locheed caliper or something better.

You should start with the resleeving the MC and some EBC pads and see how that goes.
