Or Enfields... [shudder]...although, I did see a Carberry-Enfield V-twin go by [2-up] the other day, sounded good & meaty & looked like it wasn`t gonna hold up any traffic...
so , whats the story with this ; mitesse 8V Mk 5 , at the pub , or in production . :?
Métisse’s own air/oil-cooled, eight-valve, 1,000cc 360-degree parallel-twin, good for 97 horsepower at 8,000rpm. The engine was designed by ex-F1 engineer Tim Baker, and will be manufactured for Métisse Motorcycles by Specialised Engine Services
Production of both models was scheduled to start in February 2012, with a starting price of £18,000 (approximately $28,000), depending on specification. Fifty are planned for 2012, each built to customer order
A friend bought what I think was an Indian Royal Enfield 350cc diesel motorycle. Talk about a lead sled - I doubt it could get to 60 mph in less than 24 hours. I don't know where the hell he found it, or got it imported into the US. He doesn't have it any longer. He said walking was quicker.
That would be quite recently - 4 or 5 years ago ?
Those things were tuned for some unbelievable fuel economy* numbers, must have had less than 10 horsepower ?
* 200 mpg ?, or was it more.
In India, probably a lot better than walking....
They said the Hp figures actually Rohan . I just did the coffe & paste or COPY bit . Cosworths were 10.500 or 11.000 in circuit trim. But watercooled . Have to revem like a rice burner .
Theres nasty little Egli royal oilfields .http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ye7EdW1M9EU read a write up / interview centuies ago where he thought their materials & machineing good .
Just needed blueprinting . Remove all burrs & sharp edges . As he stated .
Maybe they should fit a mikuni .
NOW , noone seen anything of these ohc Mitesses on the roads ?
Actually Matt, those successfully raced Quantel-Norton-Cosworths were highly strung units, had the tuner in conniptions when Aussie Superbike racer R.Phillis rode them like his Kawasaki 4 'racistburner' & blew them by lugging/labouring it out of its powerband..
