Installed a similar light in this thing while my team and I were building it a few years back. They are the 5-3/4" version meant for a Harley Sportster - the light they cast was amazing!! Even worked on 28 VDC with no modifications.

I have five of these, on my moderns as well.
Makes all the other LED’s pretty much like “ornamentation”

Concours, THAT is an interesting looking LED bulb.

I have Paul Goff bulbs in 3 bikes currently, they are 4000 lumens. I have looked very carefully and confirmed that the dip switches off when on main and vice versa.

The Cyclops you have shown is now available in an ‘ultra’ version which has 2 emitters for dip and 2 for main and ALL 4 are on for main, giving 10,000 lumens.

Thats a lot.

Gonna try one...

I have 2 “Ultra”’s.
You will not be disappointed.

Use discount code “ADV”

Thanks for the code info... too late though !

I am currently a fan of the Goff LEDs, I did a comparison of beam spread etc and posted pics on here but I’ll be stuffed if I can find the thread now !

Like Glen said, I really don’t ride that often in the dark these days, but actually, IMHO that makes it even more important to try and get the best possible light, cos being out of practice just makes it worse. Driving modern cars with huge, bright LEDs also makes us less practiced at riding via candle power, so when we do, it’s a bit of a shock to the system !

A mate of mine hadn't been out at night on a bike for many many years
When he did so fairly recently he genuinely thought there was something wrong with his headlight or his eyesight!!

It's here:

I hope to add to that thread shortly. I have one of Goffy's 5K bulbs in my Commando with a Wipac lens but haven't been out at night yet. With the days getting shorter I need to insure that the headlamp alignment is correct, and I'll take some pics. I run with the dip beam on during the day and my brother tells me it makes me VERY visible in his mirrors.

That ain't gonna fit in a stock Commando headlamp shell. It'll hit the toggle switch.

Thanks for finding that thread Dave... lesson learnt... be more precise with thread titles !!

I searched for "let there be light" as thread title and you as author. The search engine ignored everything but "light".

I’m not sure if the search engine here is a bit rubbish, or I’m rubbish at using it, or both. But I seldom seem to be able to use it successfully !
