Yes, you can load test a Li battery.

If you do decide to ditch the lithium then go AGM and not the old wet cell. AGM, and especially ones designed for motorcycles, can withstand the vibration better.

As noted, no reason to condemn a battery for an electrical system fault. I have never had a conventional moto battery last even a third as long as the Shorai has in my Commando (with Alton E start). The only reason I don't put a lithium in my car when I need a new battery is the cost. One for my car is around 800 bucks and although I've been impressed with the long lifespan of the Shorai in my Norton, I don't believe one will last longer than 5 or 6 lead/acid batteries and, therefore, justify the price.

I have one of those - Shindegen MOSFET FH020AA. Yup, very large. Came with 10 gauge wires and a 30 amp fuse. I can attest to the fact that they can survive a dead short (my Sparx R/R didn't).

Yeah, the PODtronics doesn't survive shorts either.

I couldn't fit a Shindegen in my battery box or anywhere else without it being highly visible, but would have used one for sure.

I've checked my Antigravity battery after 120 miles of riding between gas stations and it doesn't get hot at all using the TriSpark reg/rect. Pure luck probably. If I were to get another regulator, I'd probably try one of the Rick's Motorsports just to see how it goes. They are a little larger than the TriSpark, but not as large as the Shindegen. Only reason I didn't get a Ricks's is Covid and the power outage in Texas shut down RevivalCycles entirely for a month and I needed a regulator like yesterday at the time. Ordering from Rick's direct was pricey, and the TriSpark was a perfect fit in my case, so that's what I ended up with. So far so good.

My Tri Fart died... twice. No more. My old Boyer which is 30 yrs old is still sparking.
The only place I have broken down is in nowhere land. Is there any other kind of place?

Are you talking about the Blue Tri Spark regulator rectifier or the fancy Tri Spark electronic ignition?

I've been lucky and my Norton has only stopped running close enough to push it home. Now that I have said that it is bound to find nowhere land and show me it is capable of breaking down anywhere.

Nothing to research.

AGM, PERIOD.

Only time I ever had a Norton quit running out on the road was when I ran out of gas in my old Roadster back in the day after having just purchased it and not realizing that "reserve" was about one cup of fuel!

Shorai, Trispark, Alton E start have all been bulletproof for more than 10 years. Maybe I'm just lucky but, as they say, luck is always better than skill!
