I don't know if the fitting of the chainguard on the '72 750 is similar to an 850 manufactured in 9-73. Here are my Ikons installed on the 850. Hope this helps.

Do you have them both to compare like for like?Picture of a Koni 7610 series shock bottom with offset mount, useful for a Commando and the tight clearance to the chain guard.

not sure why they used a thinner spring on their Commando specified shock and not this solution.
I only have the 76 series Commando to compare and as these have the thinner single springs they have a central lower mount and no clash with the chainguard. There were some 7610-1429 off a 250 Honda which I will use to add to some 76-1373 series internals and fit wider progressive springs to.Do you have them both to compare like for like?
If so what differences?
