Ikon shocks. Anyone had any issues with reliability please?

Mmmm. Well. I have mine now so I shall report on progress. Still havnt used them as we finally got sun after 2 months of rain. But then I used the sun to cut hedges for two days.
More rain coming on Tuesday...I got hedges done as well...lol

I am with Time Warp. Ikon 7610-1653 has an effective stroke of 51 mm only, vs. 68.6mm for the OEM Girlings. Taking sag into account (say, a rider in his gears weigh 100 kg) , which amounts to about 22mm of travel, the remaining stroke is about 30mm only.
Girling shocks for the Commando offered at least 15mm more travel. True, it's the remaining spring force, not the travel, which counts, and the IKON has a steep last spring ratio of 31 N/mm. thus reducing the number of hard bumps, but I can't help thinking this Ikon version looks like a poor match to the original damper's basic performance.

Johnm,
I have had them on my m/c for over 10,000 miles with no problems other than to replace the rubber bushings.Very pleased with how they work.

I must be really hard on equipment. My new Fournales are leaking too.

Well, the Fournales proved to be a $1200 waste of time, effort, patience & money.
Never again.
Low grade junk.
The (Florida) US distributor, Pierre-Olivier Carles, was a bold face liar, never sent them for repair.
What a bad joke.
I'll throw them in the trash.
