Apparently, the first thing you should do when you think about rebuilding a Norton is install the horn first. I kinda left it till last and have only come up with a couple of possible locations including under the bike where the centre stand goes, but that wont work.

Since this bike will have a single Mikuni, there is space between where the airbox used to be and the rear of the cylinder head. There are two bolts back there and enough room for two Fiam horns:

Looks good, but my main concern is vibration will eventually snap the brackets or where the bolts screw into to the oil tank bracket. Will see how it goes.

Good job, and bound to be more noticeable than the stock one pointing at the ground.

That is where I have had a single Fiamm mounted for many, many years. Very effective there.

I also have my ignition switch mounted there off of the other bolt hole, since I use the single KN filter for the Amals.

The stock location is a pig but pointing at the ground is a good precaution if you ride in the rain - unavoidable around here.

I have mine mounted with a rubber donut on the threaded blanking plate I made for the former electric starter location. Couldn't find a good pic of it.

I realize it's not an ideal mounting place since most keep their E-starts and everyone else doesn't have the starter motor lug on the inner primary.
