I appreciate your thoughts Fast, but this guy has had this sitting around his shop for the past 15 years and assures me that it’s an original Gus Kuhn.Nice decals yes, but to answer Norcoastals question, I do not believe that fairing shown has race history. The only racing that would have headlights would be endurance racing, and endurance racers have a HARD life and that faring looks too good to be an endurance race survivor to me.
Personally, I’d always go new over old when it comes to fibre glass if possible. Some of the old stuff was not well made, and it often needs a lot of work, which is fine if it’s something rare or special, but not if it’s just some unknown aftermarket stuff IMHO.

And I’m more of a original guy opposed to new. He tells me that this is very sturdy and very few stress cracks. I have replica racer parts now and they seem pretty flimsy.
These parts should go well with my original GK gas tank.
It’s a patchwork quilt, but I IIke the way it’s progressing.
I had a screen made for a road version of this fairing here in UK. Turned out very well, and I got two, as that’s how they are made!It does come with a screen, but sadly it looks like this, but you can buy these in reproduction.
I told him I’m taking it and he’s just getting me accurate shipping. The seat is already bought.

The race JPN's where the fairing covered the handlebars were based on the Peel Mountain Mile fairing but narrower as per Peter Williams requirements. For The recent Peter Williams replicas they were remade for Peter by Jagged Edge who also do the larger Peel Mountain Mile copy. Just some useless info.
Back in the day you would probably have seen a Gus Kuhn bike to get bitten by the bug to build a replica. It's easy enough now to just do a google image search and get an idea which way you want to go with your build. I've searched already, and there are some nice examples of Gus Kuhn bikes and quite a few mixed parts examples with Gus Kuhn tanks or fairings. It's nice to see pictures to know if that's the look (and riding position) you wish to have when your project is finished...
My method of bike evolution is to pick a direction and slowly morph in that direction, get disgusted, change direction, then repeat... It can get expensive, but not compared to some people who have twice the amount of money in their bike as I do. If you feel you want to go in that direction and have the money,... no brainer..
I think the Gus Kuhn bikes were all Seeleys.
I sent them my fairing in order for them to build the moulds for the street version just a few years ago. I was rewarded with a badly crazed clearcoat and a new blank fairing when they returned it. No apologies. Sigh...There may be more sources but this was the first I came across...
They do ‘Street’ made for the wide twin headlights. Or ‘race’ with no lights, which you could put a small LED light into.
