Godspeed, Mick Hemmings

I too only knew Mick by phone and mail (and t he DVDs of course), but I always came away with the impression of having talked with one of nature's true gentlemen - always a wise and kindly comment on whatever idiot idea I proposed.

Truly a good man who seems to have lived a full life.

My deepest condolences to his family.

Godspeed Mick, and condolences to Angie and his family, the number of Norton legends is getting smaller.

He did some wonderful work for me. An was a true gentleman we are all poorer for his passing.
Deepest condolences to his wife Angela an family at what must be such a difficult time.

What can we do to stop all these disappearances?
Nothing unfortunately is life.
So many legends have disappeared in recent years: Collin Seeley, Peter Williams, Jan De Vries, Klaus Enders, Nobby Clark, Angel Nieto and now Mick Hemmings
The only thing we can do is honor those who are still there, the guests as "guest of honor" at vintage motorcycle gatherings and make them feel what they mean to us.
Rip Mick

Another reminder of how fast life goes by, how changes occur so quickly, how we think life as we know will always be but it won't. I hope he passed quickly and unknowingly. But as others have noted the real casualty is the other half of the team.
Condolences especially to her.

Tragic. Spoke to Mick many times, and he was such a helpful, friendly guy.
Talked me into buying his CR 6 speed instead of the 5 speed version for my race Commando. Brilliant box, brilliant man..
Sorely missed by everyone.

I talked to Mr Hemmings a few times over the years. He couldn’t do enough to help and had a true passion for all things Norton. His video is a classic in any genre. RIP Mick

Very sad news. Rest in Peace Mick Hemmings. Condolences to the Family, Friends and Loved ones. He was a great asset to our beloved Norton's.
He made it look easy in the videos and always entertaining to watch.
A quote from him that always made me chuckle: "And on the seventh day, God made Norton's"
we will miss guys like that.
Tom

Mick Hemmings - Legend; The world of Norton has suddenly become much smaller, my heartfelt condolances to his family.

I'm very sorry to hear this news. I often bought spares from them over the telephone, and I went to Mick and Angela's shop twice.

The first time I was given a tour of Mick's workshop and upstairs where they kept the spares, and I was given a cup of tea and a we had a very pleasant chat about Norton's and life in general.

On the second occasion, I was with my wife who was feeling under the weather. Angela gave us both a cup of tea and my wife was given two Paracetamols! And of course we were made to feel very welcome and had another extended chat.

They were very friendly and helpful over the phone, giving good advice. I enjoyed all of my dealings with them.

My sincere condolences to Angela. RIP Mick.

the godfather of quaife gearboxes, I had recently emailed him about my 5 speed rebuilds. I weep for him and his family as I had come to know him over the past years as a friendly and helpful person

My heart goes out to Mrs Hemmings also, life goes on but nothing is forever but the memories to cherish.

Mick Hemmings made his mark on the World, he will not be forgotten.
R.I.P.
