Fuel Tank Cap Leaks

Don't know if this is already covered or other people get fuel weaping from the ceandess filler. But I noticed it on my roadster tank, with a new cap, so I got my o-ring kit out and put two o-rings in the filler neck, there is a little recess there, two o-rings makes them just slightly proud of the spout and sealed up my fuel venting. Anyone else done this?

I have had this problem before too. I swapped out gaskets until it quit. However, I like your idea of the O-rings better, but can't picture in my head where you placed them. Pictures would be great, and thanks for posting !

Yes I wouldn't mind seeing a picture of that either. What I did, and it seems to work for me is make a fancy vented bathtub type plug. It keeps the gas from sloshing directly on the cap bottom. This won't work on all tanks however as mine is one of the ones that has an inner ledge where the filler neck is attached to the tank.

Okay guys will organise some pictures, but in the meantime the I stacked the o-rings in the ledge part in the filler neck, kind of like the bath plug idea. Two rings make enough height to get a little crush on the cap seal.

Good idea, would have saved me the purchase and installation of a new seal but then I've got too many of that type of half fixes in my life already. Still, I'd a done if I'd a thought of it.
