Forum upgrades

Hi all,

I have to do a major forum upgrade to keep the site secure. This will be happening this week starting today. You might see down for maintenance or weird looking code for short periods of time. This is a major upgrade and there is no getting around it. Functionality will not break, but the look of the forum might change and I will fix it as I go.

I will let you know when this is done. Fingers crossed, there wont be too many issues.

Hovering over the little ball in the main forum screen doesn't show your post count any more.

Can you give me more details about the little ball? I am not getting where this is? Maybe a screen shot?

If you click on anyone's avatar, it'll take you to a page where you can see all of their info. Posting number (messages) will be just to the right of the avatar on that page.

I think maylar means the (circular) avatar, however, I see the post count.


The Preview button (next to Post Reply) is missing. Edit: It's now at the top right of the message box but not as prominent

They moved the preview. It’s now a little icon top right of editor.

Yes, I just noticed it (and edited my message).

It needs to be next to the post button in my opinion.

When you reply to a thread a little ball appears next to the thread starter's avatar. Hovering over that with the mouse used to say how many posts I have in the thread. Now it just says maylar.

Using my home PC I cannot access the site.... as it wants me to upgrade my browser
Tried it many time with no success..

This is working for Les & I. Please can you try cleaning your temp browser files, logout and login again and see if it works?

Tried it many time with no success..

What browser and browser version are you using?
Have you tried clearing your browser temp files out?

Cleared browser history and temp files, no change. Still just says my user name.

I understand what maylar means by a "ball", it's the small avatar showing a member has posts in a particular thread.

Ok I understand. I am not sure what I can do, but have noted and will look into it.

I like the new preview button now that I figured it out. Click to preview and again click to un-preview. Especially nice for longer messages as the screen doesn't "jump". Also nice that you can post in either condition.
