Favorite Commando color?

Light coloured vehicles get in fewer accidents ,so yeller is gooder ? For me it's the most expensive psychedellic- fireflakeish -bling and run extra lighting.
Seems a duplication of effort to repaint a brand new paint bike ??
Searched high and low for a NOS Fireflake Blue one, to get a color match off.
Spotted this - except that its fiberglass, and 850s never had fg sidecovers ??
(and the decal and pinstripes are not central on the sidecover)

But my old favourite has to be....
It looks different in different light, but it a very good match to the original (on the left - NOS original), although the flakes are just a tad larger
The reality is most people on the lookout for their first Commando will most likely go for something painted to look like a Velocettte :mrgreen:

Mine is Black and Gold but if I were to do it all again it would be .... (with silver or grey strips - these look white? or just the photo ?) ... and apart from the colour this also looks like an excellent pant job.

Black and gold does look good, but I am partial to red as well. Not that keen on the blues or yellows(for myself anyhow).

These decals are silver. I think it's just the particular lighting making them look white. The guy who did this paint for me is one of the very best painters I have ever seen. Unfortunately he could not make enough money to continue painting and has gone back to being a radio DJ!!
To address Dyno Dave's rather antisocial comments above, we made a conscious decision to increase the width of the pinstripes to better match the size of the decals. The decals being produced today (these were from Old Britts) seem larger than the ones originally on the bikes and we thought the narrower pinstripes didn't look right. The painter and I were well aware that we were not staying stock but we didn't care and I for one think it looks fantastic!!
