Bought this bike 6 weeks ago for the wife to ride at the upcoming National Rally. Came not running for 2-3 years, the Pazon was already on it, and the starter stuff was all removed. Rebuilt the carbs, fixed the kill switch, checking out other stuff. But it really needs to estart as my wife had a knee replacement a couple years ago. Back up plan is her Ducati Monster.

Got the primary all assembled, installed the Dyno Dave starter, and wires. Hit the button and nothing. No power to the solenoid. Removed the gas tank, and everything has been disconected and the ballast resister removed.
Only wires hooked up are the wires for the Pazon, everything else is in a big bundle.

Loks like there should be a white/purple coming from the kill/switch/starter button that should be connected between the two coils, and another (white) on the other side of the ballast resistor. I do know I don't need the ballast resistor with the Pazon, and I found a wiring diagram for the Pazon; http://www.pazon.com/files/PDF/AL2-401.pdf
but it looks like they have you remove everything other than their wiring and there's no hints on what to do with the estart wiring.
anyone out there using a Pazon and retained their starter?

White/yellow [WY] runs from the kill switch to the ballast resistor, therefore it's the white/yellow that should now be connected to the Pazon "negative" (white Edit: apparently black if "Altair") wire?

White/Purple [WP] is the ballast resistor bypass that would normally connect the starter solenoid to the coils during starter operation , however when any electronic ignition is installed, the ballast resistor must be disconnected/removed, and the white/purple wiring must also be disconnected from the solenoid and coils.

White/red [WR] from the handlebar push button switch operates the starter solenoid.

What completes the circut if the WP is disconnected on the opposite side of the solenoid?

The solenoid energising circuit "ground" is through the metal plate of the solenoid itself (assuming original Prestolite solenoid?) and the WP plays no part in that.
Note that the white/red wire must connect to the "S" terminal on the solenoid.

Thanks. This gives me a good idea of what to look at after work today. It's got the original solenoid.

Yup, that was it. I had the W/R connected to the wrong side of the solenoid.

THANKS!
