Just curious on what exactly is megaphoneitis?
I get the idea of what is causing it from your explaining. But what is it? A certain lack of power? Just falling on its face before powerband rpm? Can you hear it? Just curious thank.

Refers to reversion, the stuttering/blubbering that can occur at WOT when an out-of-phase exhaust pulse occurs at valve cross-over and induces excessive mixture richness. The subject was kicked around recently at the link below.

Go back to the first page and watch the video again. You can hear it when Jim cranks the RPM up on the dyno. I think around the 2.30 mark.
