I'm trying to identify what bike this rim is for, as I've determined that it's NOT correct for the drum rear of my '73 850. Although it is the correct width (WM2), diameter (19), and number of spoke holes (40), it has a 3x1 rim dimple pattern. It is marked Dunlop and RE 031.

The spoke angles suggest a drum brake, and the 3x1 suggest either a single-width drum, a conical drum, or a conical disc.

The goal was to replace the WM2x19x40 Radaelli steel rim with a correct Dunlop rim, as I need the Radaelli for a Ducati project.

Is there a resource which lists which bike(s) a RE 031 goes to? I've heard of it being on the rear of a Royal Enfield with a single-width drum, but no others.

Thanks,
Ken

Ther is a guy on fleabay that sells a list that cross ref Dunlop rim numbers to applications.

One of these days I may buy it just to post on the web out of badness :D

Perhaps you could call Buchanan's and someone there would know, or would be able to look it up.

I'd be very curious as I have three flanged alloys in the shed which I'd like to be able to pick from for the Commando.

kenward1000,

There's a guy in San Jose who can identify your rim for you. His name is Kelly Moss. 408-254-0440. That number is about 8 years old. If you can't reach him at that number try asking Bob or Mike Raber for Kelly's number.
