J. It's January in the Northeast.
Did get out last weekend, mid 60's. It was strange but nice.

Watching the TV coverage, where clips of DJT at his inauguration are shown “America first, America first” you have to acknowledge his message. I don’t like him and think he is very dangerous, uneducated and believes he is still on a game show - however....
Within days of his election he called several people together..
“Is American steel as good as imported Chinese steel?
-Yes Mr President
Why then are we buying steel from China?
-It is cheaper Mr President
How do we fix that and get our steel workers back to work?”
For that he has to be acknowledged- he is trying to fix issues for Americans
Yes there are many complicated issues attached to this single issue but his message resonates with the blue collar workers.

The "fix" was to impose tariffs so that American steel could compete with Chinese steel. The consequence was that the
Chinese imposed a counter tariff on American soy beans and pork (amongst many things). This put American farmers
in economic distress as the Chinese went to other countries for these products. And Trump then gave billions of tax
payer dollars in economic aid to the American farmers as corporate welfare so as not to lose much needed votes. The
irony is that he vehemently criticized Obama for his loans to the USA banking industry when the crisis of 2008 occurred.
At least the banks paid back the loans.

All the toadies are scared of the Orange One and dare not even vote to allow witnesses, much less removal. They are telling each other there will be electoral consequences for disloyalty to der fuhrer. Hopefully there will be electoral consequences for spineless toadyism and abandonment of principles.
I may have said this previously, but I'd prefer he gets unelected next time around rather than removed, which would only give that stuffed shirt Toady-in-Chief Pence a leg up on the next election. I'll never forget their joint interview after Trump announced Pence as his #2 (see what I did there?). Trump answered every question put to Pence while Pence just sat there with a smile that looked like a rip in a cheap hemorrhoid cushion.

This Senate trial is, indeed, a hoax. There will be a trial, but we will not have any witnesses to deter us from our prejudged verdict. So say the Republican senators. Sounds like “trials” held in countries with dictators. Certainly not in a country that purports to be a democracy. The very same country that wages war to change regimes from dictatorships to democracies.
