Crankshaft Alternator Nut will not budge

Interesting - I have a Cordless Makita impact wrench and although I like it a lot, it can't produce anywhere near the force of my old 40 year old air-powered gun. I have had the Makita be totally unable to move a large fastener when the air-powered spun it off like it was not even tightened at all. As noted, air power is not great without a compressor large enough to supply sufficient pressure/volume.

The hardest hitting cordless I've seen to this point has been a Snap On, so now it extends to Makita. Good things to know, or it could be written off to luck of the draw. Some do and some don't, and glad yours did without damage.... I get ready to go Nagasaki on things unless I take a break when frustration moves in.

Walking away from the stubborn SOB , even for a short duration to regroup is usually productive.

Would be interested to know if the threads were galled, Loctite(?) rusted in place?
Photo would be nice..........
