Here are the nuts in detail:

It is an all metal self locking nut. The lock ring is covered with the white cap.
I tried to replicate the caps with some end caps for metal rods a bit shortened.
The diameter was a bit large so I had to glue them on.

Later I bought the last pairs of original white cap nuts from Rabers, now out of business.

There are actually 2 types of rear mudguards for the 'S' models. One mounts with a bracket under the shock mount tops, and the other mounts off a plate attached to the web under the rear of the large main tube. I've never seen a part number for the bracket type, like mine, APR 69 stamp. The 71 mudguards will fit, but you will have to drill holes and of course the indent for the tyre pump is not there, plus the S type rear mudguards have a C section, the later ones have a D section.

Notice too, the bridge on the front mudguard is shorter than the later models, like the stays.
Both of mine have the bracket that mounts to to the top shock bolts for the rear fender. Both sides of the production timeline from yours.

Those are the only other rear mudguards I've seen with the bracket. It must have been a short run. But then I've not seen a plethora of Nortons.

My ‘70 750 S with this type fender has Dec1969 on the ID plate. Early ‘70 production, but the same as the ‘69 with Mar1969 build.
The ‘69 is a Plumstead build while the ‘70 is Andover.

Anyone got a pic of the original pump? I've never seen one.
