Does anyone know the difference in all the different mudguard numbers on the early bikes, the 68 Commando (original Fastback) lists 06.0583 (export), the 'R' lists 06.0619A (chrome or dull), the 'S' lists 25542A, the 69 Fastback lists 06.0619A (same as R), and the 70 Roadster lists 25542.
Reason I'm asking is because I am trying to find a replacement for the S type front fender for a friend and I've had Nelson tell me that if you fit a 71 front fender on it, the thing gets locked in the S type exhaust with hard braking. I'm looking for a replacement for the S front fender that will not do that.
The stays are another issue.
I do know that my original S bridge and stays are shorter than the 71 parts by about 1" and I doubt if you can fit much more than a 3.00-19 under it. Mine has less than 1" clearance from rubber to fender.
