I had always thought that Norton made the coil clamp not Lucas?
I've seen them overtightened by stupid owners
Apart from that they work perfectly

I put blue loctite on both bolts. Tighten one up while rotating the coil slightly left/right till it snugs up, then back off a 1/2 turn. Then do the same to the the other bolt, but do not back it off. Go back to first bolt and re-tighten that 1/2 turn again. Seems to work fine for me.

Removed the original coils that were squashed and fitted Rita 6v coils 30 + years ago.... still going strong
