I spent the last few weeks investigating the subject and this is what I've learnt:
-the MC is the real issue as everyone is telling you. you need one with a 12 or 13 bore.Two choices (probably many more...):
a) get the stock MC resleeved. some say it can be dangerous, but it will keep the stock look
b) get a new one that looks "almost" like the stock one: andover-norton grimeca MC, also available at MickHemmings
-then go for the Platinum Ferodo Pads.
This should make your bike brake (at least this is what I think should make your bike brake, as I've not yet fitted the above to my bike...)
You could also move on to a larger rotor and racing caliper, but for what I read around this does not change much (or almost anything). But it looks good!
I've just ordered the above spares, will let you know how it goes once done.
(stainless steel pistons? does this change performance too?)
