And so it begins

While the media try to play down the economic carnage that's well on its way right now...
Thankfully, we are 100% debt-free with sufficient ultra-conservative investments to ensure at least a healthy survival through a tough downturn, even if it means we can't pass on an inheritance to our older kids who are already almost as well-off as we are, all due to MANY YEARS OF HARD WORK and very moderate "leisure" spending.

No &%$@*^# retirement schemes or pension plans we have NO control over, and Social Security (for me) is "play money", not living income.

Hang on a moment - you mean that if you call an emergency service for a life-threatening situation, they send you an invoice for $2500?
I knew the US was bad, but didn't know it was _that_ bad.
In the UK you would be lucky to get an ambulance to attend at all
They are tied up at the hospitals with crews taking over from other crews with a patient in the back waiting to get into casualty

And now we have the bank of England hiking up the interest rate to slow inflation
And talking about the worst recession for a 100 years
Can't see how that helps anyone announcing stuff like that!

Didn't Boris say " Build back Better"

Well, her estate was charged $2500 in 2012 but fortunately her insurance paid it (probably paid less than $2500). Worse than that is that the country fire departments are country managed but volunteer staffed. Worse still is the role they played in my wife dying before her time and still wanting their money (can't relive the story right now).

Years ago, Fairfax Country, VA and Montgomery County, MD were the richest two counties in the US. Montgomery County was the first to announce the fee but said not to worry they would only take what you could afford if insurance wouldn't pay (they decided what that was). Montgomery Country has fallen to around #8 and Fairfax Country is #2. I've never heard of Fairfax announcing it, but they sure charged her for her 3-mile trip to the hospital

BTW, you've really got to hope they don't call for the helicopter - last I heard that was $4500

Just looked up the 2005 announcement - by that she should have been charged about $1336 so I don't know why it was $2500. https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/fire-.../assets/documents/pdf/emt/factsheet_ems_1.pdf One thing I didn't know before reading this is that the money goes to the country general fund. In other words, not to the fire dept or EMS!

I don't know how much of the US has instituted this. Louden Country, VA the now richest county in the US passed their law in 2014 with the stipulation that it not be more than 10% more costly that surrounding counties.

A young friend, a 30ish city kid, now lives in our rural valley. "What's a girl to do with an arts administration degree?", she asks. "Trades," I say. Looking at my automotive workshop, she shakes her head and says, "There's no way I could learn all that soon enough." I barter repair jobs for professional services like architecture and construction management.

In our area, everybody in any aspect of construction is fully employed -- for now. So, my friend married a guy with a plot of land and a tiny-house he'd built. A year ago they broke ground on the main house. Last Saturday, I was up on the scaffolding helping her install insulation. She takes the lead. "Trades," I think to myself. She's a quick study. Aside from the house-building she works two arts-related jobs and teaches piano; and her husband manages the housing trust projects our valley has undertaken to provide housing for service workers, teachers, etc. and he volunteers for the emergency medical service. It's not free for users but you can buy the insurance policy for air-lift for $160/yr. Elke, a 40 something Aussie, finishing a phD psychology dissertation, has taken a cash job working on a custom house for a friend of mine. She started as a laborer. She lately has been assisting the finish carpenter bending moulding in a steam box and cutting it to shape. Winter coming, she left for Africa last month. Except for our valley, the county is the poorest in the state, in part because of the predominance of agriculture workers and in part because of a huge indian reservation.

My friends will do alright, come what may. They're smart and most of all willing to do whatever it takes. All this construction activity will end soon enough as rising interest rates take their effect. Construction-based economies feed on themselves in my experience. And that is the second largest source of money in the valley, the first being transfer payments to retirees (dividends, Social Security, pensions and so forth). But for these two sources we'd all be in a world of hurt financially. Rising interest rates just as we were recovering from Covid, what's a body to do.

In the UK in my experience the building/construction trade tends to go into recession a bit later and stays down for longer
Partly due to people putting off projects like house extensions and loft conversions etc
People have the money but don't want to spend it while the economy is down 'just incase ' etc
The big difference this time is office blocks are no longer needed and most of our work is office blocks

Similarly, home sales have greatly slowed in my area. Two years ago, most houses were selling in under 7 days and for more than the asking price and in most cases with no contingencies. Now it's about 30 days and most sell for the asking price or a little under and most with a current house won't settle on a new one until theirs sells. Of course, this means a slowdown in the trades as less houses are being built/upgraded/refreshed/repaired.

So much of both the economy and the stock market is based on confidence. If there is a big change in the composition of the Congress next week there may well be an increase in that confidence. But we shall have to wait to see.

I'm hoping so!

A very telling headline...and to think people called me and others a conspiracy theorist for mentioning the implications of a NWO...The table has turned gentlemen

You are onto the ramifications of the NWO, ....... now there is the issue of digital ID and digital currency..... two "must haves" for the NWO Globalists, besides abolishment of the 2nd Amendment in the US.

Slick

Note: these posts can get both of us hunted down ..... The first Amendment does not apply anymore.

The basis for this entire worldwide economic damage is squarely on the shoulders of out-of-control, bloated, drunk government.

NOT JUST THE USA.

Biological weaponry only opened Pandora's Box; the contents of that box have been growing for decades, fueled by hard-working innocent citizens' tax dollars.

The time for sunlight is NOW. That, or there will be no peace on Earth for the foreseeable future.
Amen.

Which is why it is called Globalism. This is, in many ways, not stoppable, too much interconnection exists. When everything is centralized you have created a single source for power and control. This allows this one throne to be captured and game over for the rest of us.
Most of us on the list are fairly old. One wonders how much will see before we check out.

This New World Order has been talked about for at least fifty years as far as I can remember. The reason I'v never lost a minute of time worrying about it is that I firmly believe it will never happen as long as there at least two different religions and/or two different races on this planet.

So do you think that agenda 21 2030 has not escalated in the last few years?
(I now realize you are a troll)

All these emergencies we have on our plates in the last few years are inextricably linked
"Health""Climate""Financial "
Its all to create da dependant population so they can control you...digital currency and electric cars aint about technology...if you don't comply they will switch you off..thats their end goal...simple

Their goal right now is to crush the working man and small business

Q: Did big business get shut down from the plandemic ?...NO It was just the working man and their small business.

It was safe to go to the supermarket etc (Big Business)...over the lockdowns but not to the local dairy. to work or to school.....how bizarre !!...
The powers that be are not incompetent...its all been planed and talked about for years like you say ?
Enemy # 1...The party of Davos (W.E.F)

2 of their famous slogans...We are gonna
"Build back better: and the kicker...."you will own nothing and be happy"
When you hear the words conglomerate or conglomeration of services etc that should make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up....believe me ?
.
NOW WHAT YEAR DO THEY WANT TO BAN FOSSIL FUEL AROUND THE WORLD ??.👀🤔
Right.. I'm gonna throw my tin foil bed cap on and hit the hay🤣

Just gotta say, I kind of agree with you on some of this...

It is however easier for the individual to generate their own electricity than it is to drill and refine their own oil. In this regard electric vehicles offer more, not less independence from the grid.
Just a thought.

Thats true....but the real issue with that is how to store all the energy for a rainy day ?
We got bikers in New Zealand building hydrogen converters at present...trial and error...lol
