If you read the OP's first post you will see that he was a bit surprised to see the fuel cap attached with epoxy rather than weld, so with that in mind perhaps my response doesn't seem quite as stupid

Oh, sorry, you got that one wrong: I was making fun of the fact that the tank builders use epoxy - not that you explained why they do. I have an old RGM tank myself with a glued-on cap and IMHO this is simple bodge job approach. With E-fuels it's doomed anyway. In order to make use of the thread you'd have to take far more effort. Madass already mentioned that the filler neck gets distorted as well and if you want to align the tank cap so that the opening direction isn't at some random orientation you'd have to find a way to lock the cap on its thread. Can be done but stirring a bit of epoxy it obviously far quicker.

My own experience with TAB Classics:

I met them a few months ago and explained to Richard what I wanted (4 gallons 'mini Manx' not Lyta, with indents for my Slimline racer), but at that moment I didn't have the money to order. Two weeks ago, I called him and told him that I could arrange payment if he could deliver the custom tank today in Stafford.

He did.

I am a happy man. Two weeks for a custom tank is outstanding. At a very reasonable price, no price rise for the short delivery!!!
Kudos to Richard and the team at TAB!!!

Has anyone else purchased a Tab tank? If so then please tell me your thoughts on the tank. I'm very close to purchasing one but I'd like to make sure that it's a tank worth buying.

I have one on my Atlas. Great tank. the only issues was where they put the fuel taps. They are in a very awkward spot. Also, apparently they rinse out the tank to get the grit out. Mine wasn't completely dried when they shipped it and the water leaked out. The entire tank had to be rebuffed.

Other than that, very well made.
