'71 Roadsters had tucked-in pipes too. At least mine does. I'd like to find another set. It looks like only Viking produces them.
 
The big problem with Viking pipes is… they’ll make any off the shelf pipes you ever buy feel pretty shit by comparison !
 
If you have a 2 into 1 exhaust system which goes under the motor, there is usually a slip joint in one of the header pipes, which allows the top part of the header pipe to turn. I also have spring -held slip joints at the exhaust ports with stubs in the head. That way vibration does not kill the threads. I use a Yamaha exhaust sealing ring behind each stub.

I'm in the camp that doesn't mind the blue, or the gold of heated up SS pipes.
The worst pipes I've purchased to date were a Siamesed set for the BSA. These came from Armours. The left header angle was off by a good 15 degrees . The sharp left header bend included a series of very visible creases about 2 " apart.
I have also purchased items from Armours that were very good.

Ditto on the BSA siamesed pipes from Armours. The left hand pipe on my A10 is bent too sharply to allow the finned collar to sit flat to the head. In addition the joint with the right hand pipe is on a vertical section just as it comes out of the RH pipe. This allowed the short LH side to pivot at the joint and blow out of the head whenever too much throttle was applied (is there such a thing as too much?) I ended up drilling a hole through both at the joint and hiding it under the clamp to stop it. If they had either bent them correctly or put the joint on the horizontal run of the LH pipe... or both....all would be well. Not very impressed with them at all.
