This one is universal…
Exactly !universal is not the same as compatible.
Of course there is no and no one will make plug and play for any Norton bike.Exactly !
Plug and play is, well, plug and play.
Everything else is not. And will require some degree of wiring mods.
No one will make plug and play stuff for 961s, the market is simply WAY too small. And complex, as Norton made wiring changes and this is not always 100% clear as to what changes / when / which markets, etc.
If you want plug and play, forget it and move on.
If choose anything else, even ‘universal’ you’ll need to be prepared for it to get complicated. Hence you either need to be electrically competent or engage the services of someone who is.
If you’re not electrically competent, and you start trying to hack aftermarket switches into the system, I guarantee you’ll end up calling a professional in anyway !
universal is not the same as compatible.
I told you before but you didn’t want any that involved wiring. That’s why I said motogadget.Of course there is no and no one will make plug and play for any Norton bike.
And that is exactly what im going to do, let a professional motorcycles electricy mechanic do this simple wiring of the universal. I will not put a box uint and if it will be required I will pass on the idea.
I told you before but you didn’t want any that involved wiring. That’s why I said motogadget.
But a plug n play switch block isn’t available. What do you want?
Read everything again.
I said I will not go into puting a control unit and its wiring which is a totaly diferent story then an easy simple 30 minutes Universal wiring which I will gladly do.
This is the best advice^^^^^^^But a plug n play switch block isn’t available.
I’d just remove all the switches for a nice clean handle bar lay out and use hand signals.
I keep giving expert advice, you just keep refusing. It would be much easier if you just give in. It’ll hurt less.
If you have to ask this then walk away from any wiring changes. Please explain
universal for that switch shown: it has 4 wires , so there are two make/break contacts. Are the buttons press and release to break the contact, or press for on, and press again for off? Please explain
Hello guys,
I’m interested to replace the stock switches to a sporty nicer switches like in photos attached.
Anyone did it/have experience with these?
They have some ready plug and play for Ducati 1098 and Aprilia models…
I would like to get the switch unit that will be plug and play rather than start playing with the wires.
The question is, which bike model(Ducati/Aprilia)used our exact switches so I can buy the plug and plug for that model and make the replacement much easier?
Thanks everyone as always!
Michael

This right side switch goes straight on the Brembo master cylinder instead of the clamp which is very cool!
Thanks Jan.universal for that switch shown: it has 4 wires , so there are two make/break contacts. Are the buttons press and release to break the contact, or press for on, and press again for off?
How can a conventional “indicators and cancel button” be replicated using single push buttons? It could be done but would be ergonomically hopeless, IMHO.
How many buttons will you end up with and how would they actually look on the bike if you used that system of components?
So universal means they can be fitted/adapted, but ( especially for Canbus— extra controllers /rewiring), they are not necessarily compatible.... for instance , not enough room to fit all the functions on the bars with some designs
You found an answer to all your needs and deepest desires. But now you can’t sacrifice a month for your happiness and pleasure? In the last week I communicated with this company which is the company that doing these to all the other brands with similar switches out there.
(These are not Canbus).
Today they told me that I can send them my original switches with the connectors and they will make me their switches plug and play! So this issue is solved.
As I enjoy my bike daily(for now)I can’t think about the option not to ride it for about a month if I will send them my switches as it will be around one week delivery time to each side and two weeks to make them.
I also have a Triumph but seriously I can’t think about not riding my Dominator for one month.
So, anyone else is interested and have another set of switches or a set for sale?
Dear Vodoshmodo,You found an answer to all your needs and deepest desires. But now you can’t sacrifice a month for your happiness and pleasure?
Why not just buy another spare oem stock switch block and send that to them to use?
Who is this wire wizard of switches you speak of? Any photos of their wizardry
Those are the new Brembo 4 knot calipers aren't they?I told you before but you didn’t want any that involved wiring. That’s why I said motogadget.
I just up graded the disk / drums on my wagon to brembos today.

Dear TendernessDear Vodoshmodo,
I really feel bad to see your frustration replies on most of the threads on this forum lately and on my thread trying to attack me in each of your frustrated replies.
I understand it’s hard for you to see that someone is actually enjoy his Norton even that there are ups and downs.
I’m really sorry for you that you had to put your Norton for sale, I will never sell my Norton Dominator.
I really feel sorry for you, really. But from now on I will ignore you like you just not exist.
I wish you all the best and I hope that everything will work out for you mentally.
I had single knot calipers. This is a vast improvement on my woody. Those are the new Brembo 4 knot calipers aren't they?
Voodoshmoodo the frustrated bullshiter,Dear Tenderness
I’m sorry and I apologize for my sarcastic comments. I only post to humor myself. I also apologize that you literally take my comments to heart.
I don’t mean to sound like an arrogant jerk, but, I do like my 961’s. So much so that I own two, a 961 Commando SF and a Domi Naked. If I didn’t like them, I wouldn’t have bought two of them.
My dislike isn’t the bike itself. It’s the lack of getting spare parts from a company that’s undecided on what they do. It’s a back and forth process, first they said they’ll send / sell me the parts I asked for, then they decided not to. I literally given up.
I’ve made other plans and will just park my Nortons and let them collect dust.
I could have sold my commando very easily, I have a local buyer that very interested. My reason for not selling was I’m firm on my price. I don’t have to sell it / them.
I enjoy working on bikes and cars myself. I do so on cars professionally for a living and own a business doing so.
I don’t mean to come off rude, but you have at time asked questions and when doing so, you already have the answer.
Many of us have given our answers and opinions. You don’t have to like, agree or accept them. But, you did ask us.
When you joined this forum, you were rude, demanding and insulting because of the same reasons I mentioned above and for not getting a ECU cable to tune your bike.
I don’t have any problems or Ill feelings towards you or anyone on here, I may not agree with everything said here, but I accept others wisdom and respect their opinions.
I think some people are too optimistic just as I’m overly negative (negatron) many times.
You ask for answers or suggestions, when they are given, you find that you often don’t like some of our answers.
That’s perfectly fine.
You asked about different switches, I just said none available are plug in play.
My other suggestion was “IF” that’s a big “IF” one were to do so, I’d recommend motogadget only because I’ve used them in the past.
So, here I am now, I have learned that instead of arguing or disagreeing, I post what I find as humerus sarcasm. I find it funny. Sorry you don’t. So I’ll refrain my remarks as to prevent you discomfort and to prevent your tenderness from being sore.
I stand by my last comment though, if you can’t give up your bike for a week or more, then why can’t you just buy a second switch gear and send it to this unknown wiring wizard so he can make what you so crave? It’s very simple.
This would allow you time to continue enjoying your precious Domi and enjoying the ridging season without down time.
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
