Advice for when I go to a swap meet....

That is a HORRIBLE attitude, and you are a bad influence.

You are on report.
After so many swap meets over the years , I just buy new stuff to be honest nowadays . The swap pickings are slimmer and mostly pre-picked over . At my age the wife and I spend almost all our coin on beers , wines , shows , rent , Norton new parts , insurance , taxes , organic foods , jet fuel , gas , gifts .

Back to the thread.....
I can't say I agree with your strategy of buying used major components and expect them to be direct replacements without rebuilding/ repairing. Buying used parts at a swap meet is the same as shopping at a junkyard. Catastrophic failures of your existing motorcycle are unlikely if you pay attention to topics in this forum.
Layshaft bearing and Premier Amals come to mind. In just about every instance, new/ improved parts will yield a repair without introducing further drama. We are fortunate to have Andover Norton parts as an option.
I don't know where you concluded on this forum that a RH4 head is desirable, but it's quite the opposite. A Fullauto or RH10 with it's intake manifolds would be preferable.

A new thread has just been posted with title

Catastrophic engine kaboom

This is why I want to get some engine parts!!

Nothing wrong with MANY swap meet parts, like footpegs, z-plates, etc.

Anything with technical specs, such as engine parts, you really need to use caution and know how to inspect. If they're cheap enough, SOME can be refurbished to good effect.

I have used quite a fair number of refurbished parts, including engine parts, and have a NEARLY 100% record of no failures over 20 years and 20+ Commandos... Just the one loose swingarm spindle on the very first one, I didn't know to check the root tube.
