I have just bought quite a nice project, a 1961 Super Rocket, one owner from new (well two if you count the chap I've bought it from, who is disposing of the original owner's estate). It runs but is partly in bits - just engine, gearbox, primary, mag etc in the frame which has good forks but bad wheels, and a set of downpipes. Everything else is in boxes. I've only had Triumphs for years (apart from a B50) and I'm completely out of touch with the BSA twins scene in the UK. I will need quite a few bits & pieces (hopefully nothing major but can't rule it out) as I get this old beauty rebuilt. Can anyone advise where I can look to for parts for this in the UK? And is there a specific BSA twins forum out there? I couldn't find anything on Facebook, which I was surprised about. Thanks.

My local motorcycle shop are BSA specialists.

Thanks - I've sent them an email asking about A10 parts. Their website isn't very encouraging - entirely photos of modern bikes, and as BSA exists again in the form of the Indian machines, maybe they only deal with these?

The only modern bikes they sell are used ones. Andy, who runs it, is a bit old school so not surprised that their website is a bit basic.

I've had several bad experiences with Draganfly. Don't want to deal with them anymore. And I know a lot of people with same experiences.
I buy all my BSA pre unit stuff from Andrew Guttman at Priory Magneto Ltd. in the UK.

Really!
Everything I have bought has been good so far
But I've heeded your warning 👍

I have been dealing with Draganfly for over 20 years and have purchased parts for complete rebuilds on 12 Ariel motorcycles. Probably had an order every month in that time. On only one occasion in that time I had a wrong part supplied, being a stainless rim that I ordered and specified 3 and 1 dimpling. The rim that I was sent was not 3 and 1 dimpled. I notified Draganfly who immediately apologised and said just keep that rim and we will send the correct one. They sent the proper rim and I had it in about a week. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Very useful, thanks. I live about 30 miles from Draganfly and I've been there a few times. I must admit I haven't felt very impressed - a lot of the parts they sell are Wassell or MCE etc and not very good quality. They seem expensive too. So I'm glad to know of alternatives.

Here are a couple of examples, back to mind from several years ago: A set of four handlebars bridge bolts, one bolt in stainless steel and three galvanized with two different types of markings on the heads.
I once ordered a not insignificant list of parts for a customer's A65, I received an acknowledgement message saying the parts should be delivered within 10 days, they finally arrived four weeks later with half of the list missing as parts were out of stock. I did send a message of complaint saying "why didn't you informed us of availability in the first place?"
The reply was "We know our business, you'll not learn it to us!" The bike was needed for a trip at a too close date to order the parts from somewhere else so trip has to be cancelled.
These are only two examples but I have many others of parts that doesn't fit or of very bad quality. I have a friend who owns two Square 4's, he still buy from Draganfly because he don't have other choice, he's cursing every time at what he gets from them.

I've looked up the place you mentioned - it looks very good, so thanks again for that. Draganfly would be among the last resorts for me. A pity, as they're not far from me.
