I'm not crazy about the purple seat, but the black seat you ended up with looks lovely.
It could be that the craftsman who made your seat is colour blind and doesn't know or admit to it.

In retrospect, I think I initially liked the purple seat only because it was different. Having seen the black version with the gold Norton embroidery, I definitely prefer the black. I'm now glad of the mistake that was made or lack of communication, but still it could so easily have gone the other way.

To my eye Dan your black seat looks the business, the purple just looks strange to me, like it wasn't supposed to be purple, but the dye has run out of it and it has 'faded' into purple!

But I totally know what you mean about being angry at being ignored in your specific request, or even worse, 'overridden' without discussion. Then to be taken the piss out of as you describe, well, that's enough to make any grumpy old man's blood pressure rise!

Personally, I take the philosophy that 'life is too short' so try to move on, cos if I don't, life will probably be even shorter!

That's my advice to you Dan (FWIW), you have a great looking seat on a great looking bike... enjoy !!

I'd have to agree. Although the burgundy looks nice, maybe different, the jet black has the elegance that classy bike deserves. Like a tux.
