961 MARCH MEET UP ( UK)

Norton are preparing a 50th get together at Donington this Summer so that should be one for the diary.
Yes your bang on the money with that, when I nipped in donnington Central from the 50th anniversary model launch Friday 31st August to Sunday 2nd September was mentioned to mark 50 years of the commando, the largest gathering of all Norton’s ever was spoke about & to host at donnington Hall , but have not seen that date or heard it mentioned since ,Tim Harrison ( head honcho ) from NOC was there, maybe it will listed in the next road holder mag ,& when confirmed we can run another thread with appropriate title

I would love to meet up with you all, I am in south Devon and would like a trip to the factory ( got mine from Moto Corsa in wiltshire ) and make it an overnight stay. Am also open to the original idea.

Im in North Devon quite a few in this area my bike also came from Moto Corsa what about regional meet .

Hi biggeoff, I sent you a message ( at least I thought I had ) I can fettle bikes but haven't a clue how to work a bloody forum. I thought it best not to take away from BLIGHTYBRIT/SF 's original idea. basically I'm up for anything. phil

Doncha worry bout taking away original idea bout March meet, if u guys out west hook up b4 that’s great as long as we get to see the pics,as there are more of these bikes around now & flying of the shelf’s, statistics says there must be one coming to a town near u, after all it’s by swapping stories/info/data & it’s by having face to face chin wags we all benefit, if I’d put a request thread in this time last year, I would of caught up with u in August whilst i did a 700 round trip to Newquay ,& here we are at the Victoria hotel .

Blighty,
25 March is in the diary, Ryka's good for me coming from Wiltshire. BTR's wrong side of the smoke. Jacks In Bagshot, GU19 5HL could be a venue. Plenty of parking space, Fish'n'Chips, Tea etc. Right next to fueling station with a Waitrose attached. 50th Anniversary at the factory has to be a must.

I am Wiltshire based and use MotoCorsa to look after my ride. The new showroom and cafe make for an ideal meeting place.

Been a conundrum, but this time on this March meet is going to be “ RYKA s CAFE “ Boxhill in Surrey ,so I don’t wanna be the only nag in town on SUNDAY MARCH 25th ,I not been there since my 2 stroke salad days, & talking of strokes I don’t know bout u, but I’ve almost had a boredom induced one due to the complete absence of 961 rides, so pump up yer tyres & catch up 3 weeks this Sunday , I be there approx 11.00 a.m. so try aim for 12 noon .

It’s the first day of longer daylight hours as clocks are “ springing forward ,& who knows , we could make it last Sunday each month & have a different location each time , slowly move up the country .pip pip bientot

Sounds like a plan, trust the snow will be gone and we get a bright dry day for it.

50/50 for me mate.

I’ll speak with the Ox & Bucks regiment and see what they think.

It looks like a great destination, but it’s a pretty sh*t journey from our neck o’ the woods, near impossible to avoid dull motorways and dual carriage ways, made even more dull when you’re ‘running in’ !

3+ hours on sitting on a motorway for me so will give this one a miss, I don't think other motorway users will appreciate the old-fashioned 'running in' sign taped to the back of my jacket :D

Got to miss this one been told by factory the bike will not be delivered until April. Spoke to Olivia and ten weeks seems standard build time. That puts my delivery date Friday 13th hope it comes with a 4 leaf clover and a lucky rabbits foot.Never understood how the rabbit was lucky to have its foot cut off.
Looks like its the Suzuki until then.

What about you arranging one in your area next month. I can think of at least two others that will make the journey if nothing more than an excuse to get out.

Soon as I get my bike ( @10 weeks) I'll put the feelers out for a meet up in the relative North of England, there's a decent bikers cafe by Bridgenorth/Kidderminster , so about 80 miles from me on Merseyside, should catch some guys from the Midlands and Wales.

Yep that's a good meeting point I am about 45 miles away, another owner lives Telford who I can contact. Other meeting points are Bala in North Wales and Barthmouth which all have very good roads. Love North Wales roads very little congestion and excellent surfaces just keep an eye out for Mr plod.

Yes good idea GLB , if we make it last Sunday in every month we will all know there is a meet going on somewhere , I for one am up for travelling here & there , so a new “ APRIL MEET UP “ could be started soon.
