Oil tank vent in place, time will tell whether that was a good idea. Yet to put some black heat shrink over the brass fitting to make that less visible.
Could only get clear line in these Covid times, probably a good thing initially to confirm whether more than air makes its way into the line.

Taps modified to fit the working space, blank guides fitted to help alignment - all as recommended by Ollie. Can't imagine where the bottle opener came from.
Hole tapped - Ollie described it as a "shitty job", the guys that did the work used stronger language than that.
Non return valve fitted, and now we are back in covid semi lock down again so who knows when this will be finished!

That does not look like a fun job.

Thanks to the wonders of contactless deliveries one crinkle black HD starter has now been fitted. :)
Just needs the valve clearances set and the lockdown to be over so that a Dyno run can be arranged.
My thanks to City Garage for the updated ECU map .

Free from lock down at last - front sprocket replaced with one tooth smaller, crankcase breather line fitted, tappets done, rocker cover back on and all now back in my shed.
First time setting hydraulic tappets - a little bit of head scratching until we worked out the difference between free play on the rockers and compression of the hydraulic adjuster spring. All ended up being correct as they were.
Next a bit of fine tuning on cable positioning, tank on, oil in a turn the engine over to prime the oil system. Then plug into the new ECU and explore that foreign land.

RichD's bikini fairing fitted.
Correct for my bike as it left the factory but the original headlight disintegrated and has been replaced the later style, which is a bit smaller, so the gap to the fairing is on the generous side. Something to think about later.

That was being a bit dramatic, but the plastic tab for the screw fixing the chrome rim in place was very flimsy so i used all my skill and broke that very quickly. I spent more time riding with the ring held in place with duct tape than with the screw. Without the fly screen it was also butt ugly and just to top all off it had the ability accumulate water between the reflector and lens on rainy days, with the halogen bulb then shattering.

Motogadget LED indicators are bright little suckers.

Bike loaded with oil, and next morning - no puddles.
ECU to sort and will spin over with plugs out to prime the oil system before firing up.

The new starter motor is sooooo much quieter in action than the factory one.
Cats with shorties, not quiet but not as offensive as before.
The bottom end still very noisy, it is so long since i started the teardown that i don't know whether that is better or worse than before but the PO did fit the shorties to try to hide the racket.
Time for some fine tuning and, at last, test riding.
