Does your machine have 850 type cylinders or 750 type? Thinking maybe a short stroke 750. That would have the 850 crankcase.

The bike has a 750 all base nutted barrells and a RH6 head.

OK, I don't know why your engine has 850 cases. One of my past machines was a '73 750 220627 built Nov 1972. It had the '72/'73 type cases with breather at the lower part of the timing side case. It also had RH6 head (high compression). Fenders were stainless 850 type with square tail light and extended black instrument cases (850 type).

Thankyou for the information Piero.
I forgot to mention my old bike 230034 also had Veglia speedo and tachometer.

It is interesting about the 850 type cases on one of your 230 machines. Initial 850 production began in October 1972 according to Joe Seifert with VIN 300000 to 300021 booked to the experimental department from Oct 25th.

So for whatever reason the factory built a 750 with the new 850 type cases in December.

Regards, Tom

Tom,
I mean.
First 23009x has the 1972 cases, but the second one 2309xx has like 850.
2309xx is later same time 850 production, but i dontn know.
Both the bike was sold in Italia at first, not imported later.
Ciao
Piero

My 1973 230... (one of the last 750) Roadster has a RH6 head with 932/29/30 carbs.

I just noticed, 932/29 & 30 are '850' carbs! :)
