Thanks mate :) had quite a long convo with some of the experts I've been using so all sorted now.

Filmed a lil video chatting about what I got up to today totally freezing!!!

Shes ready to rock an roll now. Noticed the battery doesnt seem to be charging when riding so gonna test the alternator.

Charged the battery while I was working an the lights are running off it again.

Now the weathers getting a lot worse an I'm gonna be riding in the dark considering putting mirrors an indicators onto her. Think I've still got the wiring harness that I took off from the indicators that were fitted originally if not I'm gonna make a new one up.

Just need to find some period looking mirrors and some neat indicators that work but dont stare you in the face.

Just test fitted the r/h mirror I took off her when I first got the bike need to open the gap on the grip a little more in the morning and source a matching l/h pretty sure it's gonna be a Norvil one, next step is to fit some indicators tomorrow if I've still got them, found the original rack as well so thinking of putting that back on with a tail pack for waterproofs and stuff :)

Tom,
Looks like a Halcyon mirror so might be worth a quick call for a match and an insert which is correctly sized - saves enlarging your bar inners
John

Thanks John! Yeah this went straight in so the original owner must have ordered the correct size inner I'll pop them an email in the morning. Got a black rim on the glass side looks quite smart.

Looks like an earlier version of the 820 Mirror :)

Thanks Eddie yep Ejahara messaged me over those :) quite like the rectangular 820 one I've already got so gonna get a second one for the lh side :)

Itching to hunt for the indicators tomorrow.

Snowing near me on the Cat Fiddle.

So think these winter mods will be handy indicators an mirrors an the rear rack for all the waterproofs.

Today was beyond freezing headed out with the intention of going to Matlock got as far as Monyash after starting out at the Cat some different country roads an dad was really cold so turned off for Monyash stopped and had some chips and a bacon Sarny.

The SS performed perfectly even in those rubbish conditions no matter what we came across she took it in her stride.

Here's a large selection of photo's from when we pulled up had to stop on the way back on the Cat as my hands were frozen haha!

No ice, no snow, so it couldn't have been that cold! :)

If your hands were numb then you could certainly do with a better pair of gloves.

We really need to get into the habit of stopping more tend to ride for 2 hours at a time the wind was very heavy which didn't help :) so yeah hands really suffered as it was just above 0 temp wise low down not at the altitude we were at.

Looking at getting a set of inner heared gloves apparently we had some snow high up the night before on the cat which explained the rubbish temps. Supposedly all weather gloves lol successive days out in the cold didn't help

Credit where credits due!
Epic picture by Alex at bikerpicsuk a few who watched the video from that day will remember me getting all excited at spotting them :)

As a former pro wildlife photographer always do appreciate good photography.
Pic is on the Cat and Fiddle. 650ss has been running like clockwork so not much to report.

Considering a wd16h at the moment and my next bike to go along with the current Norton's just starting to research the other ww2 bikes :) anyone had a 16h?

I tried Everything to keep my hands warm and dry, some of the contractions fitted to my bikes over the years are probably seen nowhere else even on a wartercooled bike I rigged up a funnel from the radiator to a hose pipe to some handlebar muffs' free central heating! The Cat is rather bleak in the winter, so you won't keep warm without a tall screen on a fairing.
