Hi, looking for some help as a new owner of a new 2024 961.The bike was delivered 6-8 weeks ago, due to an operation and bad weather I haven't been able to get out on the bike. Its been in the garage on a battery conditioner.

Long story short, tried to start it yesterday. wouldn't turn over (not enough to engage/spin starter). Tried twice before ignition lights went out. Now I dont have any igniiton but headlights/indicators/horn works. Checked (and replaced) battery and three fuses under the tank and everything OK, still no ignition?

Anybody experienced anything similar that I could try before going through the rigmarole of getting the dealer involved?

Thanks in advance

Sounds like a discharged battery..

New batteries can fail, typically high internal resistance so you get good volts from a multimeter but low amps so the starter will not spin.

Checked the other fuses, with the fact you have auxiliary circuits such as lights etc working, but no ignition/clocks lamps?

They charged and tested the battery at the shop so reasonably confident that I need to look elsewhere but will get it double checked, thanks

I’ve checked the three main fuses by the battery, I assumed they would be prime suspects. This mornings job will be to check the others.

From memory, the charge socket and ecu are on the same 10a fuse, so I'd check those out certainly. Don't think I've ever had to replace a blown 30a fuse on a 961.....only replaced them due to arcing on the blades due to a poor grip on the holder terminals.
