But I enjoy being the crazy old man in the neighborhood on a Norton! Think I'll go with curtain "B". Put the 750 engine under the work bench redo the 850 and that will be the best of both worlds. I'll try to wait for cold weather to start!
If I understand right you're going to take a matching numbers titled 750 and turn it into a bitsa. To me, and I'm sure others, that is terrible! Better to come visit me with the frame, engine, gearbox, and title and go home with an 850 frame and title, and gearbox and some money - that's one option, have others.

Agreed, nowhere near as many 750 MkV as MkIV but still not particularly rare.

I don't think the actual '22' series production is known but it must have been several hundred (as we have a pic oF 221213) even without the 230 and 235 series.
I have no idea of the total either, but I have 12 in my survey.

Lowest 220081 I recently rebuilt it from a basket case and it is all matching numbers
Highest 221504 which was seen on Bring A Trailer Aug 18, 2021 and was a blue Roadster listed as matching numbers

90% of all the modified nortons look awesome, some of those ones with odd seats .... sun-something I don't find visually appealing to me , anyway, I don't think it will matter which way you do it , they made plenty of them and you'll be saving it from scrap .

:( :):):( I'm so confused! Now that it's a bit rarer then we thought, I'll redo it stock. Filled the tank with lacquer thinner today and the liner seems to be dissolving. Also tor down the 850 that I bought in March to find that it was just rebuilt, but full of dirt from storing without valve covers or timing cover. New valves but there is a repair in right exhaust port. The best find was it had a new Norris 356 SS cam in it. I heard they were pretty good for a replacement street cam, worked best in 850.

I feel your concern.
No advice here because I'm Not sure what I would do.
I'll just sit back watch....

Norris SS…had to look it up.
.359 lift with 284 duration
I picked up a Norris RX somewhere and tried it in my 750 combat.
The lobes went bad.
