Well, I guess they do.
So you better watch out -the single row bearing is definitely not up to the task.
Mine did not lock up -it just got so wobbly in ~300 miles that the sprocket started rubbing the swingarm. Jim

I have noticed there are several single row bearing both sealed an unsealed it the size needed. An if you are not sure if you have a double or single row type sealed bearing by its code number then pulling out the seals may be the only way to know but of course most people (including me) would not really wish to do this as it would defeat the object.
There is only a "budget" bearing listed on the Simply Bearings site with seals but the load ratings quoted are the same for all the double row types (not that i know what the ratings should be but just one appears no better or worse than another).
So it looks like the budget is the only easily available one at just £17.94 including VAT an free postage i have ordered one so its there when I get around to do the job over winter. I will keep a close eye on it though when in use. The old bearing is fine an probably the one Norton put in so the new one is not really needed an will have to last well to prove itself.

I popped the seal on the 4203 2RS I got from NorCom, and it is indeed a double row. Seal is blue, not black like some of the other bearings I got from him.
Chinese made for a German company was what I was told.
I'm glad you can remember 7 years ago. Seems I have heard of some that poo-poo the Walridge double row bearings though. I'm not going to worry about it. Thanks.
