This is the original front brake that was on the Commonwealth Honda when I bought it from Martin Adams. Marzocchi magnesium sliders, dual Performance Machine calipers and disks, and Astralite wheels. Sorry about the picture quality, but I sold the bike to Fred Eiker a few years back, so can't take any better ones.

And this is the front brake from the Commonwealth Norton just before I sold it to Fred. I had restored the bike, but set it up with a period front end for the AHRMA Formula 750 class. It has a Norvil front wheel with dual Norvil splined disks (lightened), and dual AP Lockheed racing calipers.

Is this a "best photo" contest or a "best brake" contest?

Good question. Since this is a bike forum, not a photography forum, I've been taking it as a "best brake" contest. However, I expect that the photo quality also has a significant influence on the voting.

Wouldn't be complete without a PR front brake. This is the original (but swapped over to the left side) front brake on my PR back in the early '70s. I had just started racing it, but also still rode it on the street, and it still has my Navy base permit sticker on the slider.

This can get addictive:). This is the brake on the ex-Jim Schmidt monoshock Norton. This is an update from the original brake that Jim used. I'd post a picture of it if I had one. It was a pretty interesting setup for the time. After I bought it, I changed to this configuration, with dual AP Lockheed racing calipers and floating disks on Marvic magnesium 17" wheel. Forks are 40 mm Ceriani/Forcelle Italia.

Front brake in my T140 at present. 12” Hyde floating disc, 4 piston Brembo Goldline caliper on home made bracket. Connected to a 13mm Brembo master cylinder from cNw. Not particularly exotic perhaps, but it works really well...

This is the front on a Hyde Harrier I dabbled with a while back. Twin PFM discs intended for a GSXR 1000. Twin 6 pot PFM calipers. To be honest, this set up was too fierce, I don't think I had the right sized master cylinder with hindsight. If I did this now I'd just use the one disc...
