There I was top of the ramp bought to board the Eurotunnel train in Calais France ( a week ago ) when the bike cut out , click click went the starter , flat battery ! , bump started down ramp to board the train. When train arrived in Folkestone had to bump in the train to get out , 6miles later it wouldn’t run anymore, no display,no indicators , fortunately was only 1mile away from a Halfords , “ battery is F@@led my 6 pals said , so got the one installed quick as & rode home ,however over next 25miles the Volt indicator on speedo went from 12v down to 6.9v .
Seeked advice of where to look from SB & found the 30amp green fuse had blown on top of the battery, well really blown .cleaned up & replaced & voltage is 12/13v on tickover & 14.2v when riding with 3/4000 revs .
Noticed a a bit of chaffing on little wires on relays under tank also ( taped them up ) ,age related probs will start occurring now I guess , you can see my crew looking less than enthusiastic bout the prospect of bump starting the bike inside the confined space available with a slippery non grip floor.
