Sorry to hear this Ken. I met you at the Norton rally in Washington in 2018. I have the same colour bike as you. I always worry more about riding it than my other bikes for this exact reason. Can't just go to the local bike shop to pick up parts. Take care.Glad your somewhat alright Ken, At least you didnt get in the ambulance and get the bill. Hope things get worked out. Cheers Adrian
The best thing is you’re alive and safe. The bikes repairable. Not a good s tart to my ride today. On the way out of my tract, a pickup truck parked on the side of the road decided to suddenly make a U-turn right in front of me. I grabbed too much front brake , and down I went. The pickup driver fled the scene immediately. I was trapped under the bike, but a local couple stopped to help out, and called 911 and the Highway Patrol. The paramedics checked me out and reluctantly agreed that I could have my wife come get me instead of taking me in to the ER. I wasn't really injured, just some sore knees and hands and such. I got home and hitched up the trailer, got my grandson to take a break from work and come help me load the bike and bring it home. It could have been worse, but I guess I'll get to find out how good the parts situation is at Norton now.

Thanks for the info. When I bought the bike, it had aftermarket blinkers, but I converted them back to stock. Just liked the look better, and they fit the mounts properly. I'll probably order up the Triumph ones from a US source. What a git/selfish coward driving off , I repeat all previous comments to your welfare Ken , re the indicators , I know there’s lots of aftermarket ones to choose from , but u could go for triumph 1050 sprint ones , identical shape/size/wiring & have a useful flexible stem , & of course readily available new or used !
The wheels survived just fine, better than the rest of the bike and me. But we'll both be right again soon.I've just seen this thread, and I too am glad that you're okay Ken. Well then,,,since you are ok,,,, what about those expensive new carbon fiber wheels of yours? ARE THEY OK? Again, I am truly glad you and your 961 are alright, well "mostly" ok, right. Cj
Consider that now there are ####**! driving around looking to stage accidents. If they have several 'witnesses' and you have no camera footage what are you going to do? All it takes is for someone to reverse into your car and claim you rear-ended them...….. Its getting to be a bad old world out there.I worry that if I have a cam on something will happen and the cam will show I was in the wrong!
Bike doesn't look too bad, Ken.
It could have been a lot worse for you and the bike if you T-boned the guy doing a u-turn.
How you holding up now, day 3?
Hi Ken,Doing ok. Still hurts in a lot of places, so I'm moving slower than usual, but I should be fine before too long. I think the thumb was dislocated. It was really swollen, but today I stretched it a little and heard and felt a distinct pop, and it almost immediately felt better. Swelling has gone down a lot just since that happend, so I'm optimistic. Like Steve said, us old folks don't bounce back as fast as we used to. Funny thing about the thumb, I tore it up seriously 45 years ago in a race accident at Sears Point. My doctor mis-diagnosed it, and though it was just a sprain. After a couple of months of it not healing, I went to hand specialist. He had to re-break it, go in surgically to clean up all the tissue damage, and then put a pin in until it healed. Life has been hard on that thumb.
