Ok Thanks so can the whole assembly be substituted or will it only fit on a Triumph ThxThe actual screw-in master cylinder (barrel assembly) is the same but the T140 alloy housing is different.
The complete T140 assembly wouldn't fit a Mk3 (at least not without something being modified?)

Yes I took the grub screw out but the cylinder was very tight I ended up putting it in the freezer overnight and heated the housing and had to use a pipe wrench to break it looseDon't remember where I got it but it was a stainless replacement for a 78 triumph that I didn't use yet and it was complete, maybe Baxter's or Klemph's I hope you did remove the set screw in bottom of the housing!!
Do you know if the cylinder comes complete with all the internal parts
Thanks for all the info you certainly are a wealth of information Thanks I think I may have found a barrel here in Canada I am going to check it out tomorrow Thanks jackYes, (although the barrel is available separately) and also suggest you buy the stainless steel version.

I found that following those instructions the cylinder was not in far enough with the 1/2” kit. I also believe P400 had the same issue. But that being said I would still follow the Lockheed instructions and be prepared to adjust accordinglyThe master cylinder must be set to the correct depth in the housing.

Yes, the Lockheed instructions are intended for the original 5/8" master cylinder.
