Two new projects. 5 axis machining of new billet aluminum 850 cylinders. And first batch of raw castings (flashing not removed, and deburred) for first run of 850 Full Auto heads
On FB, John said Nikasil.Awesome!!!
Whats the plan for securing the liners in the ali barrels and what will the liner material be?
Regards Mike

yes, 750,s are going to be done. The 850 heads have a larger market, so we are tackling those firstWow indeed. Any plans for 750 versions down the road?
The cylinders look fabulous John - will they be available in other capacities (880, 920)?
Sorry John, I meant will the cylinders be available in 880 and 920 capacity? We want to get the 850 and 750 stock heads done first, them we may look and valve size and larger displacement. But need to make some money first
Hey Mike
As mentioned above, there will be no liners. This is not a casting, but billet material. We played with Nikasil on some Maney alum cast cylinder. We pressed in billet alum liners and had them nikasil coated. It has worked great on 3 race bikes, 3 years on each engine with no replacement of parts and excellent leak down results. We could not nikasil the Maney cylinders with out the billet sleeve, because there are porosity problems with cast aluminum John
The underlying word there is cast. If Maney barrels are sand cast as opposed to die cast, then it would be unsuitable for Nicasil coating. More than one manufacturer has made lots of alloy barrels that are Nicasil coated, Yamaha watercooled TZ s for instance.
