After wondering why regular contributor Frank Damp hadn't posted anything for some time I did a quick Google search and sadly found that he passed away last May. His passing had been mentioned as an aside in another thread on here but I thought he deserved to be remembered in his own right.

As you'll see from his first post he was one of the Commando and AJS Stormer test riders in the late sixties. (which Is why I've posted in the Classic Commando forum)

Sorry to hear this, always liked his posts about life and work at the old Norton plant.
Belated condolences to his family.
 
I saw the previous mention. Wish I had the opportunity to meet and talk to Frank Damp.
 
Thanks Cliff , Frank always had his own distinct view of issues .... Sad news .... he will be missed
 
Sobering and sad news. His was a great voice on this list. May he RIP.
 
This was surprising and sad news. I had some interesting exchanges with Frank during the last years. He will be missed. May he R.I.P.
